MineRP Planning Protocol
But wait, there’s more! We all have to deal with mine planning for different planning horizons and levels of detail but MineRP has combined some historical effort in defining a single process for mine planning with the updated Exploration and Mining Business Process Reference Model (see post 1 of this series). The MineRP Planning Protocol or ‘scroll’ is the result.
Planning starts with collection of geological data, passes through mine design and scheduling, allowing for more multi-disciplinary technical inputs like engineering and metallurgy as well as commercial interests all the way to being able to express the business in monetary terms.
